Job Description

MK Strata is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead technical analysis, support project delivery, and provide accountable engineering oversight across transportation, water and wastewater, aviation, dam, and energy infrastructure projects.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will apply disciplined geotechnical judgment to manage subsurface risk, guide design decisions, and support projects from preliminary investigation through construction.

Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and engineering design efforts across complex infrastructure projects

• Oversee subsurface exploration programs and interpret field and laboratory data

• Perform foundation design, slope stability analysis, ground improvement evaluations, and earth retention system design

• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and engineering recommendations

• Provide construction-phase engineering support and respond to evolving site conditions

• Collaborate with Owners, designers, contractors, and regulatory agencies

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to maintaining technical standards

• Ensure work is delivered with clarity, defensibility, and accountability

Basic Requirements

5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.

• Proven track record of launching successful products and features.

• Strong research and analysis skills, with ability to synthesize insights into product decisions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on impact and ROI.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Preferred Requirements

Board Certification in Geotechnical Engineering (BCGE) or pursuing certification

• Experience with transportation, dam safety, water/wastewater, or aviation infrastructure

• Familiarity with geotechnical modeling and analysis software

• Experience providing construction support and responding to field conditions

• Leadership experience or mentoring junior engineers
